Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese acupuncture requires the Chinese medicine doctor or acupuncturist to have a good understanding of Chinese medicine theories, in particularly 'Yin and Yang, 5-elements theory', 'Qi, blood and body fluid theory', 'Yin, Wei, Qi and blood - 4 level theory', 'Zang and Fu organs theory' and 'Huang Di Nei Jin'.

It is always said in Chinese Medicine that 'pain arises from blockages of Qi or energy flow in our body once the blockages are resolved, then pain will be gone'. During acupuncture treatment, fine needles are inserted into the body at specific locations or points to achieve the maximum therapuetic effect for specific health conditions.

The Chinese Medicine doctor or acupuncturist then twirls the needles with fingers or applies mild electrical stimulation on the needles in order to activate the movement or unblocking of Qi flow. As a result, health problems will be alleviated or cured.
